DGFT Services

Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) is a Government organization responsible for facilitation of imports and exports in India. DGFT is responsible for providing various Licences / Certificates required for doing import and export business in India. Addition to this DGFT is also responsible for implementing various Export Benefit schemes in India. List of Services

Importer Exporter Code (IEC) is a 10-character unique alpha-numeric number allotted to a person / entity. It is mandatory for undertaking any export/import activities including services exports. The entity will not be eligible for any benefits without valid IEC. Know More IEC

Export and Import Organizations (EXIM organizations) can apply for licenses online which means that they can also file accompanying documents electronically on the DGFT website. A Digital Signature Certificate ensures authenticity of the document. Know More Digital Signature

Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) is a required document for the following purposes:

  • To Import / Export of items in ITC (HS) except Restricted Items
  • To claim benefits / concessions under Foreign Trade Policy.

A Free Sale and Commerce Certificate is a certificate issued for export of any other item which is not restricted or prohibited for export confirming that the product is freely sold in the country but without any indication that the product is evaluated for safety and efficacy and is registered for use in the country. The Remission of Duties or Taxes on Export Products (RoDTEP) is a scheme that has recently been rolled out by the government of India, to provide reimbursements of any tax, duty, or levy paid by the exporters while exporting goods from India. Know More RODTEP Scheme

The status- holder position is allotted to the exporters of goods and services depending upon certain level of export performance achieved by them. The exporters of goods/service who hold valid importer-exporter code no. This system has been introduced by DGFT on 25th may, 2022 through its notification number 11/2015-2020. Under this system importers of paper and paper products have to submit advance information in an online system and obtain an automatic Registration Number. Importers shall have to enter the Registration Number and expiry date of Registration in the Bill of Entry to enable Customs for clearance of consignment.
