The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has introduced this scheme to provide assistance for the international component of freight and marketing of agricultural produce, to mitigate disadvantage of higher cost of transportation of export of specified agriculture products due to trans-shipment.
Eligible Products
The products falling under chapters 1- 24 of the ITC HS Classification are eligible for the benefits of the Scheme. However, there are some products in these chapters which are not eligible for the benefits.
Pattern of Assistance
- The quantum of benefit depends on the destination country.
- In case of Sea Shipments the benefit is calculated on “Per Container” Basis. Twenty Feet Container is considered as a single unit of measurement.
- Benefit is different for Reefer container and normal container for the same destination country.
- For Air Shipments the benefit is calculated on “Per Kilogram” basis.

Important to Remember
- Eligible only for Shipping Bills in C&F or CIF (Not eligible for FOB Shipping bills)
- Eligible only for shipping bill proceeds whose payment has been realized in Freely convertible currency
- E-BRCs should be produced mandatorily
- Only applicable for shipments made from EDI Ports
- Only for Full Container Load is considered for benefit
- The container in question should not have mix of ineligible products
- Benefit not applicable for Bulk/Break Bulk Cargo
- Application can be made only once per quarter
- Benefit is directly transferred to the Bank account of the exporter
